Fastrack is going on a bear hunt!
Next Summer, Dartford is set to host a unique and exciting community event that will capture hearts and imaginations across the borough. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, a first-of-its-kind public art trail inspired by the much-loved children’s book, is coming to life thanks to a powerful collaboration between Dartford Borough Council, local hospice charity ellenor and acclaimed art trail producers Wild in Art.
Running from July to September 2026, the trail will transform Dartford with 30 large Bear sculptures - each individually decorated by artists from across the country - alongside 30 ‘Bear Cubs’ brought to life by local schools and community groups. It’s an invitation for families to explore the town, celebrate creativity and connect through a shared experience - all while raising awareness and vital funds for ellenor’s hospice services.
And we at Fastrack are proud to be right at the heart of it.
As Dartford’s dedicated transport partner for the trail, Fastrack is honoured to support this project that champions everything we care about - community, creativity and care. Our routes will connect visitors to many of the sculpture locations, making it easy for everyone to take part, whether you’re a local or a visitor seeing Dartford in a new light.
At Fastrack, being more than just a bus service has always been our mission. We’re about people first - providing reliable, accessible and sustainable transport to help connect communities and support local initiatives. When we heard about the Bear Hunt trail, we knew we wanted to be involved. It’s more than an art trail - it’s a celebration of Dartford’s identity, its spirit and the organisations that make a difference every day, like ellenor.
ellenor, a Kent-based hospice charity, provides specialist care to children and adults with life-limiting conditions. Their work is vital and the Bear Hunt trail offers a joyful and creative way to support them - bringing together artists, schools, businesses and families in a meaningful and impactful way.
As Transport Partner, Fastrack is committed to helping the trail reach as many people as possible. Our services will ensure convenient, car-free access to many of the Bear locations, encouraging a more sustainable way to explore the borough and reducing traffic during the busy summer holidays.
This trail also brings wider benefits to the area: boosting local tourism, celebrating creative talent and reminding us all of the value of public spaces that bring joy and reflection. We’re proud to play our part in delivering this vision.
So, whether you're going on a bear hunt for the first time or rediscovering your favourite childhood story, hop on board with Fastrack and let us take you there.
